About the Event
Following the Reinterment Anniversary Ceremony, please join us for the opening reception for Kingdom of Gold: Photographs of Ghana, an exhibition by Ellen Kaplowitz.
Kaplowitz’s work documents the enstoolment of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and captures daily life in Ghana with depth, beauty, and care. Her photographs are both visually striking and historically grounded, celebrating cultural continuity while acknowledging the enduring legacies of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
Presented in connection with the Anson Street African Burial Ground Project, this exhibition continues an important dialogue about ancestry, memory, and the honoring of both the dead and the living across the African diaspora.
