Virtual Listening Session

In 2022, the Preservation Society of Charleston was awarded an African American Civil Rights Grant by the National Park Service for this project. The Preservation Society and Anson Street African  Burial Ground Project are working with community members to identify and  document Black burial sites in the City of Charleston. By providing the  City with a comprehensive map of burial grounds, these sacred sites can  be better protected from development.
